Savor the Taste of Summer
Family Style Fish Tacos and Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon
While we love our steak here at Schmidt Brothers Cutlery, we have a soft spot for fish too. With the fishing season in full swing, it is the perfect time to take advantage of your local fishmonger and cook up some fresh and delicious fish-based recipes. We especially enjoy making fish tacos on summer weeknights and cedar plank grilled salmon for dinner parties.
Cooking fish can be intimidating for some, as it is a much more delicate protein than steak or chicken, but it can be just as easy with the right recipes and equipment. Remember: before making these recipes, make sure you have a boning knife! Our boning knife makes the process of deboning and skinning a fish as easy as can be. Check out ours.
Family Style Fish Tacos
We love Taco Tuesday. Like, we REALLY love Taco Tuesday. This family-style fish taco recipe from Bon Appetit is a perfect way to feed your family or friends while not compromising on flavor. This recipe combines delicate white fish with avocado, homemade pico de gallo, toasted tortillas, cilantro, lime, and cabbage. P.S. You can top off your tacos with guacamole if you prefer it over plain avocado!
Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon
As we're previously shared, adding a cedar plank to your BBQ can add some savory and smoky flavor to your food. While you can use the planks for other proteins, we love it when paired with salmon, due to the subtle smokiness flavor the plank adds. Check out this recipe we love from Once Upon a Chef for a step-by-step guide on how to make the perfect cedar plank grilled salmon.
