Shipping

Schmidtbrothers.com offers free shipping on orders of $125 or more.  This promotion applies to deliveries within the 48 contiguous United States via FedEx standard ground shipping.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we do not ship to P.O. boxes at this time.

FedEx Standard Ground: 5-7 business days

We do not currently offer overnight or expedited shipping.

FedEx Standard Ground Shipping:

  • Free for orders of $125 or more
  • Orders of $50 - $124.99: $12 flat rate
  • Orders of $25 - $49.99: $10 flat rate
  • Orders of $24.99 and under: $7 flat rate

We strive to ensure your order arrives as quickly as possible. To make sure it ships to the shipping deadline, your order must be placed and your payment authorized before 12PM EST. All orders placed after this time will be processed the following business day. Please allow up to two business days processing time in addition to standard delivery time.

Schmidt Brothers is not responsible for lost or stolen packages, and we will not offer replacements or refunds for orders that are reported missing that we reasonably believe to have been delivered to the facility.

On rare occasions, such as the holiday season and special sales, delays in processing may occur. Your business is important to us, so if your order is unexpectedly delayed, feel free to contact us.

  • Orders are shipped on business days only. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays within the United States.
     
  • At this time, P.O. boxes, shipping companies or freight forwarders. Orders placed to these locations will be cancelled. 

  • Please allow an extra day for DPO orders..
     
  • Estimated delivery dates are estimates only, and are not guaranteed.
     
  • Overnight or expedited shipping is not currently available.
     
  • Unfortunately, we are not able to ship to international locations at this time.

  • Schmidt Brothers is not responsible for lost or stolen packages that are addressed to a freight forwarding service. Should you wish to use this type of service to ship back your return, you are taking responsibility for the possible loss of your shipment. We will not offer replacements or refunds for orders that are reported missing if we reasonably believe they have been delivered to the facility. Any order addressed to a freight forwarding service is placed at your own risk.
     
  • You will be billed for items purchased with a debit or bank card immediately upon your order confirmation.

Order Cancellations / Changes

In an effort to ship orders within a 24 - 48 hour period, we are unable to guarantee changes or cancellations due to the speed of the fulfillment process.

You may contact us directly at info@schmidtbrothers.com immediately after your order placement, and we will make every effort to correct or cancel your order if possible. Please note if we are unable to change or cancel the order prior to shipment processing, you will need to return your order for a refund upon receipt.

Return Policy

We'd hate for you to have to return. But if you must, please keep reading!

We want you to be completely pleased with your purchase.

If you are not satisfied with your order, Schmidt Brothers will accept merchandise in its original, unused condition with all original packaging intact within 30 days of your order receipt.   Please note that customers are responsible for the cost of shipping on returns.  

Once we receive your return package, you will be sent an email notifying you that your return is being processed.  

Item(s) on clearance, warehouse sale, labeled discontinued, or closeout are final sale and non-refundable. 

Please note that buyer is responsible for cost of shipping on returns.  

We recommend that you return your item(s) via an insured and traceable method such as UPS or FedEx.

Please pack returns in the original outer box or another sturdy shipping box, including your order # or packing slip.

Items should be packed appropriately to ensure the product arrives to our office in good condition and to protect all points and edges from cutting through the shipping carton.  We want you to be safe, as well as all delivery personnel.  PS, it's also required to comply with US regulation when sending sharp objects through courier services. 

We are not responsible for returns that do not have tracking/delivery confirmation (POD) showing that the package was actually received by our office.

Please allow up to 10 business days for return processing and inspection of your items.

For any purchases made through a retail partner, please follow their return / exchange policy as stated on their website.

At this time, products purchased through a retailer cannot be sent back to Schmidt Bros corporate offices.

Warranty Information

All of our products are fully guaranteed against defects in materials and / or craftsmanship under our Limited Lifetime Warranty. 

Our warranty does not apply if the damage is due to what we define as normal wear and tear; this includes natural elements and materials in our items such as wood handles and/or wood products, or use other than the intended purpose of the item. Certain types of damages and/or conditions such as those due to age or improper treatment would void our warranty.

If you feel your product qualifies for a warranty claim, we would appreciate the opportunity to hear from you.

Please contact us at info@schmidtbrothers.com. We will reply within 48-72 business hours with instructions on the necessary information needed to inspect your claim and process.

Not to worry - we stand behind our products, even if they no longer are active SKUs.

Replacements for items no longer available may be made with similar items of equal value, at company discretion.

Knife Sharpening

The more you use your knives, the more frequently you’ll have to sharpen them. Guess you didn’t need us to tell you that.

To maintain a sharp edge (the sharper the knife, the safer the knife), you should hone your knives once a week and do a full, at-home sharpening once a month. 

There are a number of great products on the market that the everyday chef can use (including ours!).  Once you do it once or twice, it gets less scary - we promise.
