The Schmidt Brothers Artisan

The Schmidt Brothers Artisan

Say hello to the newest collection in the Schmidt Brothers collerction - the Artisan Series.

Manufactured in Germany with the highest quality materials and techniques, our new Artisan series is a masterpiece that combines age-old Japanese Damascus artistry with the manufacturing excellence of Solingen, Germany. These special knives are sure to elevate your kitchen and cooking experience.

This new knife series is particularly special because of the way in which the knives are manufactured. 65 individual layers of VG10 Damascus steel, an incredibly sharp steel, are tested and wrapped around the core of the knife to ensure that every single layer maintains the premium  strength and durability of VG10. Each layer of the high-carbon VG10 Japanese steel showcases beautiful water-like patterns that make these knives exquisite in appearance. In addition to the uniqueness and craftsmanship of the steel, the handle is made out of coconut resin in order to provide an eco-friendly and super comfortable,  smooth grip, so that it fits comfortably into the palm of your hand. The ergonomic handle and full tang design gives you precise control when slicing, chopping, or dicing.

The knives in the Artisan Series are sold both individually and as a 7-piece set. The 7-piece set includes 5 knives, a two-stage sharpener, and a Cork Borough Block. We paired the Artisan Series with this particular borough block because the soft cork-like finish will protect the artistry of the blades, allowing you to show off the beautiful knives, while also maintaining their durability. The Artisan Series is truly eco-friendly, as both the knives and the borough block are crafted with sustainability and the environment in mind.

What knives are featured in the 7- piece Artisan Series?

  • 8" Chef's Knife

  • 5" Santoku Knife
  • 3.5" Paring Knife
